World-renowned farm business programme officially launches across the UK
Planning for Profit brings internationally recognised Ranching for Profit principles to British farmers following successful inaugural programme
British farmers are set to benefit from one of the world's most respected farm business programmes as Planning for Profit officially launches its UK expansion, bringing the internationally recognised Ranching for Profit programme to more farming businesses across Britain.
Following the success of its inaugural Scottish programme earlier this year, Planning for Profit has announced two new five-day residential programmes, giving farmers and agribusiness leaders the opportunity to step away from the day-to-day demands of the business and focus on building profitable, resilient businesses that support the life they want.
At a time when farming businesses are navigating rising costs, changing agricultural policy and increasing financial pressure, Planning for Profit offers a practical approach to business management. Rather than teaching people how to farm, it equips participants with the tools to make better business decisions, understand what drives profitability and develop clear plans for the future.
Planning for Profit is the exclusive UK provider of Ranching for Profit, the internationally recognised programme developed by Ranch Management Consultants in the United States. For more than 40 years, the programme has helped thousands of farming and ranching businesses around the world improve profitability through sound business management, leadership and financial decision-making.
Sam Charlton, founder of Planning for Profit UK, said:
"Bringing Ranching for Profit to the UK has been a real ambition because the principles are just as relevant here as they are anywhere else in the world. Farmers don't need someone telling them how to farm. They need the time, space and practical business understanding to make better decisions for themselves, their families and their businesses.
"The response to our first programme showed there's a real appetite for this type of learning. Participants left with greater clarity, renewed confidence and practical actions they could implement immediately. Farmers don't need more theory, they need principles that help them focus on what really drives performance and build businesses that are fun, exciting and unstoppable.”
One of those participants was Scottish farmer Jamie Leslie, who attended the inaugural programme. He said:
"Planning for Profit completely changed how we look at our business. It challenged our thinking, gave us real clarity about our financial goals and helped us see where we need to focus our energy. It was one of the best investments we've made in our business."
The five-day programme is delivered by Sam Charlton alongside Dallas Mount, Chief Executive of Ranch Management Consultants, and Shannon Sims, one of the programme's experienced international facilitators.
Dallas Mount said:
"Planning for Profit is for people who are serious about building exceptional agricultural businesses. The principles have helped farming businesses across the world for more than four decades, and it's exciting to see them now reaching more farmers across the UK.
"Working alongside Sam and her team has been one of the highlights of my career. The enthusiasm we've seen from British farmers gives me great confidence that this programme will continue to grow."
Graduates can continue their development through Executive Link, a facilitated peer-to-peer programme that provides structured business reviews, accountability and access to an international network of progressive farming businesses committed to continuous improvement.
Following the success of the first UK programme, bookings are now open for two further residential courses.
